Supreme Court allows Idaho to enforce ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth

The U.S. Supreme Court has granted Idaho the ability to enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth, allowing a 2023 law that subjects physicians to up to 10 years in prison for providing such care to minors. The court's decision, which reverses lower court rulings, has sparked debate among justices and advocates on both sides of the issue. While the law will now be in effect for most individuals, exceptions are in place for the two transgender teens who challenged the law, allowing them to still receive necessary care.
