Over 280 Nigerian schoolchildren abducted in Kaduna released after weeks in captivity

Following an abduction at the LEA Primary and Secondary School in Kuriga, Kaduna, more than 280 schoolchildren were released from captivity by motorcycle-riding gunmen. The children were rescued by security forces and are receiving psychological support before reuniting with their families. This incident is part of a larger trend of mass kidnappings in Nigeria, particularly in the northwestern and central regions, where armed groups often target villagers and travelers for ransom.
