Former Baltimore Prosecutor Marilyn Mosby Avoids Prison Time for Mortgage Fraud and Perjury Convictions

Former Baltimore State's Attorney Marilyn Mosby, known for charging officers in the death of Freddie Gray, has been sentenced to 12 months of home confinement and three years of supervised release for mortgage fraud and perjury. Mosby was convicted on multiple counts related to false statements on mortgage applications and withdrawing retirement funds under false pretenses. She maintains her innocence and has appealed the convictions, while also seeking a presidential pardon. Despite calls for a longer sentence, the judge cited Mosby's lack of prior criminal history and her status as a mother of two young daughters as factors influencing her decision.
